Learn to cook a Sri Lankan feast from scratch, with Coconut Curry, Dal and Tarka, and sticky, spicy Devilled Paneer. A relaxed, hands-on cooking class in Edinburgh, and a very good dinner at the end of it.
In this hands-on Sri Lankan cooking class in Edinburgh, we’ll spend three hours cooking up a feast, packed with coconut, spice, chilli and plenty of flavour. You’ll learn how to make a Sri Lankan curry from scratch, make a rich and comforting Dal finished with a sizzling Tarka, and cook Devilled Paneer; sweet, spicy, sticky and very moreish.
Sri Lankan food is made for sharing, and this class is all about learning how to put together the whole spread from scratch. You’ll make every dish on the menu, working in pairs, so you’ll get hands-on with the feast from start to finish. You will learn about spices, seasoning and some of the techniques that give Sri Lankan cooking its distinctive flavour.
As with all classes at The Wee Kitchen, this is a relaxed, sociable cooking experience. You’ll work in pairs, with demonstrations and guidance along the way, before sitting down together at the end to enjoy everything you’ve made.
Come on your own, bring a friend or make a date night of it. No previous cooking experience is needed, and confident cooks will still leave with plenty of new ideas and inspiration.
All classes take place at Cyrenians Flavour and Haver Cook School in Leith, check out our venue guide for transport, accessibility and more.
