Hands on cooking class experiences in Edinburgh

FAQs

Our classes can be adapted to suit a range of dietary requirements. These lists highlight some of the dietary needs we can and can’t accommodate, but they aren’t exhaustive. If you don’t see your requirement listed or you’re unsure, please get in touch before booking and we’ll be happy to advise.

Our kitchen is cleaned and maintained to a high standard, but we can’t guarantee it’s completely free from allergens. For this reason, our classes aren’t suitable for people with coeliac disease.

Please let us know about any dietary requirements when you book so we can make sure we have the right ingredients ready.

All classes take place at Cyrenians Flavour and Haver Cook School in Leith, check out our venue guide for transport, accessibility and more.

10% of all proceeds go towards supporting the work of the Cyrenians.

This class is BYOB, so you’re very welcome to bring along drinks to enjoy during the session. We’ll sit down together at the end to enjoy the food we’ve prepared.

You don’t have to bring anything. However, I recommend that you bring an apron, a tupperware for leftovers, and since it’s BYOB – something to drink.

You’ll be working in pairs during the class. If you’re booking on your own, don’t worry – you’ll be paired up on the day.

A minimum of 4 participants is required for the class to run. If we need to cancel or amend the session due to low numbers, you will be informed in advance and offered a full refund.

Cancellations made 7 days or more before the class are eligible for a full refund or transfer to another class. Cancellations made within 7 days of the class are non-refundable, unless your place can be filled by another participant.

If we are able to fill your spot, a refund or class transfer will be issued. Thank you for your understanding – classes require advance preparation and ingredient purchasing.

For an individual booking, the minimum ages is 18+, however, I am happy to accept 14+ onto a class provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult. The classes are BYOB so you just need to be aware that adults will likely be consuming alcohol on the premises. It would be great if you could let me know at the time of booking if you are bringing an U18. For under 12s – keep an eye out as I will be putting up some classes suitable for younger children soon!

Not yet – but it’s in the works, watch this space.
