A hands-on introduction to Scottish food, bringing together traditional dishes, local ingredients and the stories behind some of Scotland’s best-known flavours.
Guests cook for themselves, learning to make Scottish favourites such as Cullen Skink and homemade shortbread, with the option to personalise the experience with additional dishes including haggis bon bons with whisky cream sauce and cranachan.
There’s plenty to taste along the way too, from Scottish cheeses to a sip of Irn-Bru. It’s a relaxed and sociable way to experience Scottish food culture, with everyone sitting down together at the end to enjoy what they have made.
Our Traditional Scottish Masterclass can be booked as a complete experience or tailored to suit your clients and itinerary.
The standard masterclass offers a relaxed introduction to Scottish cooking, while private groups can personalise their experience with additional dishes, tastings and Scottish touches. If you’re working with a particular group size, schedule or itinerary, get in touch and we can discuss what will work best.
We did Ailsa’s traditional Scottish cooking workshop as part of a family holiday in Scotland and had such a great evening! If you’re visiting Edinburgh and looking for something a little different from the usual sightseeing, we would absolutely recommend The Wee Kitchen. It was one of those experiences that really added something special to our holiday and helped us explore Scotland from another angle.
Great cooking course. Lovely instructor and really fun hands-on experience. Will definitely bring back visitors who want to experience some Scottish cooking, or fun to do with friends for a birthday event
Look no further for a truly authentic Scottish experience! Ailsa is the perfect host instructor with exceptional skills and hospitality.
Conveniently located to enjoy a pre or post stroll along the Leith Walk. You won’t be even a wee bit disappointed with the Wee Kitchen!
This was a wonderful introduction to cooking Scottish food! Ailsa was fun, knowledgeable and supportive. She had all our ingredients prepared and helped us to make a delicious traditional Cullen Skink stew followed by melt in your mouth shortbread. We also sampled Scottish cheeses and made new friends. I highly recommend this experience. It is well-worth the money and the time!!!
