Join us for a relaxed evening of festive cooking at The Cookbook Shop! With a mixture of demonstrations and hands-on cooking, we’ll be making a selection of delicious savoury bites that are perfect for entertaining over the festive season.
Throughout the evening, you’ll enjoy a mixture of demonstrations and hands-on cooking, before sitting down together to enjoy everything we’ve prepared.
As with all classes at The Wee Kitchen, this is a relaxed, sociable cooking experience.
Working in pairs: You’ll be working in pairs during the hands-on elements of the class. Don’t worry if you’re booking on your own – we’ll make sure you have someone to cook with.
On the evening, as an extra wee bonus – you will get 10% off anything you buy at The Cookbook Shop (great for stocking up on Christmas pressies)!
A classic Spanish pintxo of olives, anchovies and pickled peppers to kick off the evening.
Light, savoury French cheese puffs, demonstrated during the class.
Crisp crostini topped with a rich, creamy Smoked Mackerel Pâté.
Learn to fold your own Wontons and enjoy with a delicious Chilli Oil Sauce.
All classes take place at Cyrenians Flavour and Haver Cook School in Leith, check out our venue guide for transport, accessibility and more.
10% of all proceeds go towards supporting the work of the Cyrenians.

This class is BYOB, so you’re very welcome to bring along drinks to enjoy during the session. We’ll sit down together at the end to enjoy the food we’ve prepared.
You don't have to bring anything. However, I recommend that you bring an apron, a tupperware for leftovers, and since it's BYOB - something to drink.
You’ll be working in pairs during the class. If you’re booking on your own, don’t worry - you’ll be paired up on the day.
Our classes can be adapted to suit a range of dietary requirements. These lists highlight some of the dietary needs we can and can't accommodate, but they aren't exhaustive. If you don't see your requirement listed or you're unsure, please get in touch before booking and we'll be happy to advise.
Our kitchen is cleaned and maintained to a high standard, but we can't guarantee it's completely free from allergens. For this reason, our classes aren't suitable for people with coeliac disease.
Please let us know about any dietary requirements when you book so we can make sure we have the right ingredients ready.
A minimum of 4 participants is required for the class to run. If we need to cancel or amend the session due to low numbers, you will be informed in advance and offered a full refund.
Cancellations made 7 days or more before the class are eligible for a full refund or transfer to another class. Cancellations made within 7 days of the class are non-refundable, unless your place can be filled by another participant.
If we are able to fill your spot, a refund or class transfer will be issued. Thank you for your understanding - classes require advance preparation and ingredient purchasing.
